About This Test
The Limits of Spatial Working Memory
This Visual Memory Test, sometimes called a Spatial Span Test or the Corsi Block-Tapping Task, measures the capacity of your visuo-spatial sketchpad.
Strategies for Improvement
High scorers on this test often use "chunking." Instead of memorizing 7 individual tiles, they memorize a shape (e.g., "a triangle pointing left" or "the letter T"). This compresses the information, allowing the brain to store more data in the same working memory slots.
